The club has a limited selection of diving equipment that will allow pool training to commence. It is expected that as training progresses trainees will gradually purchase their own gear to allow other new trainees to commence training. This also has the advantage that individuals can become familiar with their own gear before commencing open water training. For advice on what equipment to purchase ask a committee member or other experienced divers in the Club, they will be only to happy to help.
 
The Club at present has one dive boat, which is maintained by Club members and financed through club accounts and fundraising together with an individual charge for diving from the boat.
 
We usually dive as a Club on a Sunday and during the summer months on weekday evenings. Diving is usually arranged at the Club on a Friday night, confirmation of diving is always made the night before diving is to take place in case of a change of dive sites, times etc. due to the weather. We dive all year round, and usually have about two diving holidays a year somewhere in Britain or abroad. There are divers who have experience of diving in different locations abroad who can offer advice on how to go about diving at these locations.
 
We have a comprehensive training programme to take divers up to Club Diver level; this is the first grade where divers are considered competent to dive with one another without a more highly qualified diver present. This is an internationally recognised diving qualification and will allow you to dive anywhere in the world. We encourage people to continue training to higher levels if they so wish.  We have qualified instructors for pool and open water training and offer encouragement to members who wish to become instructors themselves.
 
We always retire to a bar (usually the Horse & Jockey, Durham Rd, Stockton) after pool training for an informal get together and to arrange the weekends diving.  Other members of the family are welcome to come and use the pool (see next sheet for pool fees), we take pride in considering ourselves to be a family Club.
